BRIDAL PREP PHOTOGRAPHY: MAGIC MOMENTS
I had a wonderful time photographing the wedding of Emma and Matt.
Emma's parents home was the starting point for the day, as Emma and her bridal party had lots of laughs and giggles during the bridal prep. I get to photograph beautiful moments as the bridal party interact during preparations. It's always one of my favourite moments when the Father & Mother of the bride see their daughter for the first time in her stunning wedding dress. Emma’s beautiful dress came from Bridal Reloved.
It was also a perfect morning to photograph Matt getting ready with his groomsmen, everyone was in high spirits and soaking up the atmosphere.
Finally, Emma and Matt were ready.
THE BRIDE ARRIVALS IN STYLE ONBOARD RUSTY
Emma arrived at St. John Vianney, Roman Catholic Church, Wantage in a stunning 1964 Spilt Screen VW Camper, nicknamed Rusty, courtesy of Rusty & Roses Is there any better way for the bride to arrive?
Friends and family looked on as Emma and Matt exchanged their wedding vows and rings in a moving ceremony led by the Priest, Canon Peter Turbitt. The choir in the church was a surprise for Matt arranged by Emma, very Love Actually.
I must say how lovely it was to see the close relationship between Canon Peter and both families, this really came across in the images I took. Following the ceremony, Emma and Matt then walked through a lineup of family & friends who showered the happy couple in confetti, these always make for great images.
MAGNIFICENT ELCOT PARK WEDDING
Emma & Matt then enjoyed a chauffeur-driven drive in the beautiful Rusty to the magnificent Elcot Park, Newbury. A stunning eighteenth-century Georgian Manor House, Elcot Park sits among 16 acres of the beautifully landscaped gardens.
It was my first visit to Elcot Park as a wedding photographer, I love working in new venues with a fresh perspective. It's a fantastic job to be a wedding photographer in the south of the UK, as I'm so lucky to be able to work with outstanding couples and incredible venues like Elcot Park.
The happy couple enjoyed spending quality time with their family and friends in beautiful surroundings. Soaking up the sun which went with their beach theme setting perfectly, donkey rides and ice-creams the flavour of the day.
SUMMERTIME WEDDING, DONKEY RIDES AND ICE CREAMS
The donkeys were another surprise for Matt. Emma's, Grandad's family used to breed donkeys in Ireland, an excellent connection for the occasion.
There was a feeling of happiness and joy in the air as everyone enjoyed themselves, especially seeing the children enjoying the donkey rides. Chasing each individual moment is my mission as a wedding photographer.
Summer weddings let me get the best of each moment. The guests made the most of the great weather, soaking up the sun, and enjoying the delicious ice cream that was being served up by the fantastic folks from Rusty and Roses. There were also baked fresh pizza's in the evening, and I can vouch they were absolutely delicious!
Emma and Matt decided to have the speeches before the meal. The reaction of the guests as the speeches are delivered are always priceless and make for superb storytelling photographs.
Following the meal in the Percy-Shelly Suite, the evening kicked up another gear, and the celebrations began. The DJ playing some epic tunes, inviting the newlyweds and their guests to the dance floor.
Weddings like Emma and Matt's make my job as a wedding photographer an absolute pleasure. I feel so fortunate to have been chosen to capture their special day.
Now, where did I park Rusty?
